What we were handed.
The ordering site ran on shared hosting and went down during every Ramadan rush. The ERP ran on a PC in the storeroom. Backups were a USB drive, when someone remembered.
Three people shared the same passwords, and nobody could say what had changed when something broke.
Six pieces, one system.
- 01
Everything in one place
The ordering site, the ERP, n8n and Metabase moved to containers on managed cloud servers, each with a staging copy.
- 02
Deploys without downtime
Every change is tested and released automatically, and rolled back in one step if needed.
- 03
Room for the rush
The ordering site scales up for Ramadan and Eid peaks and back down afterwards.
- 04
Monitoring, handled by us
Uptime, response time, disk space and certificate expiry, with alerts to our on-call engineer.
- 05
Backups that are tested
Encrypted backups every six hours, stored in a second region, and restored in a test every month.
- 06
Access per person
Individual accounts and single sign-on. No shared passwords.
From start to finish.
“Ramadan used to be the week the site fell over. This year it was just a busy week.”
