What we were handed.
Cargo temperature was written down by hand at loading and at delivery. A door left open for forty minutes in between looked fine on paper.
Fuel use varied by 30% between identical trucks and no one could say why. Then pharmaceutical customers started asking for a temperature record for every delivery.
Six pieces, one system.
- 01
Devices in every truck
GPS, two cargo temperature probes, a door sensor, and a reader on the engine’s CAN bus for fuel, RPM and idle time.
- 02
Data that survives dead zones
Readings every 30 seconds over 4G, stored on the device when coverage drops and uploaded when it returns.
- 03
Live fleet map
Each truck’s route, cargo temperature and door status, on one screen for dispatch.
- 04
Alerts on WhatsApp
Temperature out of range for five minutes, a door open while moving, harsh braking, or long idling.
- 05
Automatic delivery reports
A temperature record for every delivery, sent to the customer as a PDF.
- 06
Fuel and driver dashboards
Consumption per truck and route, and a weekly score for each driver.
From start to finish.
“We used to find out about a warm truck from the customer. Now dispatch knows in five minutes.”
